Drakontas has been funded to develop training programs for the criminal justice community and works with the U.S. Department of Justice, Drexel University, SPAWAR Systems Atlantic, the Regional Forensics Crime Laboratories (RCFL) and other partners to increase the technical and operational capacity of law enforcement to respond to new forms of criminal behavior. Specific examples include:
- Training programs to raise awareness of crimes committed in virtual worlds and online gaming communities, as well as the techniques and resources needed to help crime scene investigators and forensics professionals collect evidence and conduct investigations;
- Research publications that identify and evaluate new technologies for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals related to cellular phone detection, position location, interception and wiretapping for public wireless data networks.
Examples of our work in these areas can be found in our collection of whitepapers.
